Her: "That's one place where you and I are different."
Me: "What do you mean."
Her: "I don't think my dead grandmother is watching over me. She's gone. She was here and now she's gone."
Me: "Hm."
Her: "I don't believe in God the way you do."
Me: "Okay, well I have a question, and I really mean it. When you and I are singing and it's perfect harmony and it gives you chills and you feel closer than close, do you think that's just biology? Do you think it's totally absent of spirit?"
Her: "No! I understand that there is energy all around us and we connect to that energy and that we are all connected to that energy, and that it never dies or goes away.
Me: "Oh. Well that's what I'm talking about when I say 'God' or 'Heaven.'"
Her: "Oh. Well I don't really feel comfortable throwing those words around in my vocabulary."
Me: "That makes sense. But it's quicker and easier to say."
Her: "That's true!"
